Joe Pa goes for 400

Joe Paterno is arugeably the greatest college football coach of all time; he has set so many records in his long 45 year career as head coach of Penn State. He has achieved so much in his many years at the University and is beloved by so many people that are involved at Penn State. His greatest and latest record that he could break is getting four hundred wins as head coach for his career. This is such a great feat because no other coach in FBS history has ever achieved this goal. Only two other coaches have achieved this feat, and they are Eddie Robinson I-AA and John Gagliardi at St. Johns Minnesota.
Joe Pa, which is his nickname given by the Penn State faithful,  is so modest about what he has achieved at Penn State, and refuses to answer any questions this week about this great goal that he could achieve this weekend against Northwestern. This is why so many people love Joe Paterno, not only is he a great coach, but he is so modest about his achievements and never is cocky about them and never show boats. He just coaches the game and still coaches it because he loves the game so much and it would be so hard for him to step away from the game of football. He turns 84 years old next month, and many people wonder how much longer Joe Pa can keep this up. I guess we will all see soon.

Dallas Cowboys Dreadful Season...

If any of you are football fans, then you have definitely heard of the Dallas Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys are considered America’s football team for many reasons, not only because of their incredible teams year after year, but they are also very famous for having the hottest cheerleaders in the NFL. But the cowboys this year are more of a disappointment than any other year they have been in the NFL. This season, the Cowboys have started 1-6 capturing the worst start by any Dallas cowboy team in franchise history.
This is so crazy to many people in the National Football League because many people had the Cowboy’s going to the Super Bowl this year and winning it all. The Cowboys are a team filled with superstars with high payrolls and that’s why many people thought they would take the crown this year. But as we can see, the Dallas Cowboys season is a huge disappointment to many people including myself. I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan, and I am disgusted in the way they have played this year so far. They probably won’t even make it to the playoffs this year after this terrible start.

This season, the Cowboys were looking forward to being the first team to make it to the Super Bowl in their own Stadium. No team in NFL history has ever made it to the Super Bowl when it was being held in their own city. This was a feat that the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, wanted to conquer this year. But as we can see, this dream will most likely not come true this year.

Randy Moss Waived by the Vikings...

Randy Moss maybe considered one of the top Wide Receivers to ever play the game of football. He has accomplished so much in his career, but he also has had some rough spots in his career. Randy is going through one of those rough spots right now. That rough spot is not being wanted by any team. At the beginning of the year, he started off as a member of the New England Patriots. After a couple of weeks into the season, the Pats traded Randy Moss to the Minnesota Vikings, who were hoping Moss’ addition to the team would help them with their little losing streak at the beginning of the season.
This proved to be wrong, Moss started off his young career at Minnesota and has always wanted to come back home. He also wanted to play with legendary quarter back, Brett Favre. So the Vikings made the move of trading for Randy Moss and getting him to be a part of the Viking organization again. Everyone had such high hopes for Randy’s return too Minnesota, but in the end everyone was disappointed. Just this Tuesday, Randy Moss was waived by the Vikings organization for his lack of effort and lack of production on the field. He also went back to Foxboro, where the Patriots play, for a regular season game against them and showed how much he still loved the Pats and was saying how much he missed them. He was also fined $25,000 by refusing to talk to the press after the game one weekend and was not very happy about that. All I can say is that Randy Moss is at a down point in his career and I hope he can lift himself back up from this because he is truly one of the greatest wide receivers to ever play the game.

BRUTAL SUNDAY

This Sunday in the National Football League was a brutal one. There were so many hard hits that could have seriously injured some players. One of these hits was delivered by Dunta Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons on DeSean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles. This hit knocked both of the players out of their game on Sunday. Robinson launched himself head first into Jackson and caused one of the worst hits I have ever seen in football. Another man who is known for insane hits is James Harrison of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He sidelined two of the Cleveland Browns player with head injuries after he leveled them in their game Sunday.
The National Football League is soon starting to suspend players for dangerous hits, because just fining these players is not getting the message through their heads.  Most of these players pay these fifteen thousand dollar fines like it is nothing and keep on doing what they’re doing the weekend after. That is why the NFL thinks the players will learn their lesson if they are suspended due to a violent hit. The NFL is just trying to protect its players and make sure they do not obtain any lifelong head injuries, or any other injuries. I know some people might disagree with this by saying that is what the NFL is all about, hard hits and nailing people, but if the NFL lets this get out of hand, there will be many more injuries throughout the league, and more and more people will stray away from the game. What are your thoughts and opinions?

Brett Favre's Historic Night in New York

Brett Favre is arguably one of the greatest quarter backs to ever play the game of football. But not only is he an amazing football player, he is also a class act. Brett Favre is probably the most respected player in the National Football League. Not only because he is one of the oldest players in the league, but also because he is one of the greatest players. Favre works harder than almost any other player in the NFL, and plays with such passion for the game every play he is in the game. Brett is always trying to make a play when the ball is in his hands, but this has also led to a lot of mistakes in his long and glorious career. Favre is the leader for most Interceptions thrown by a player and most fumbles by a player in NFL history. This is not a good record to have.
On another note, Monday night was a Historic night for Brett Favre in New York. Brett threw his 500th touchdown pass of his career to none other than Randy Moss. It was the first TD pass between the duo, and it was a very historic one. Brett is the only player in NFL history to throw for more than 500 touchdown passes in a career. Brett also passed the milestone of throwing over 70,000 passing yards in his long and glorious career.  He also leads the league in consecutive games played, passing attempts, passing completions, and passing yards. Whenever Brett Favre decides to retire, he is a for sure a future Hall of Famer.

Michael Vick vs. Donovan McNabb

One of the biggest stories of the week in the National Football League is that Donovan McNabb is coming back to Philly to play the Eagles. This is a huge game for both teams, not only because the Eagles traded McNabb last year, but also because they traded him to a team in their division! That’s basically a slap in the face for McNabb. If a team trades you to a team that is in their own division that means that they do not believe you are good enough to beat there team in the future. So everyone knows that Donovan McNabb is going to come out to play on Sunday.
Also, this is a big game because Michael Vick is the new starter for the Philadelphia Eagles. McNabb is one of the main reasons that the Eagles ever required Michael Vick in the first place, and so far, it has paid off this year for the Eagles. Michael Vick is playing the best football of his life the past couple of weeks. He has thrown for a passer rating of over 100 in his first two starts as an Eagle, something he never did in all his years with the Falcons in Atlanta. He is also making a positive difference for his team, he trusts his teammates more than ever right now, and believes that they can make plays. Vick has also started to show more confidence in his arm rather than his legs.  The old Michael Vick would not stay in the pocket and wait for receivers to get open; he would rather run the ball because he didn’t have as much confidence in his arm as he did with his legs. Vick has definitely shown an improvement in this category and it has paid off for him.
Just be ready for a quarter back showdown in Philly on Sunday, because it’s going to be a good one. I cannot wait to watch it. Thank you to all who read my blog.

Why I choose to do my blog on Football

There are many reasons why I decided to do my blog about Football. The main reason I choose this topic was because I love watching and playing football, and there is always something going on in the world of football. Whether it is in the NFL or in College football, there is always either something bad or good going in each of the leagues. I also choose this topic because it is really easy for me to talk about football and I am very interested in everything that not just happens on the playing field, but also what happens off the playing field and behind closed doors. I have also been playing football for many years before I came to college and have always loved the sport very much. I love going to all the games and cheering on my favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the University of Miami. I know it might sound bad to all you guys that attend the University of South Florida with me, but I have always been a die hard University of Miami fan ever since I was a little kid. All my family lives down there and they used to always take me to the University of Miami’s games when I was little and I just fell in love with the team. Even though many people hate on the University of Miami “swag”, I still love the school for the type of football they play. I believe that many people hate on the so called “swag” because many schools in the nation can not compete with the Hurricanes when there “swag” is at its best.  Alright well thank you to all who took the time to read my blog, hopefully I will have plenty more blogs to come in the future that you guys will enjoy!! See you later!
